The Role of Teacher Competence in Guiding Group Discussions

Teachers' pedagogic competencies, which include planning, implementing, and evaluating learning, are crucial in creating an interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere. This research is based on the importance of using the right learning method in improving students' understanding of concepts. The use of group discussion methods is one way that can improve students' critical thinking skills and understanding. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the group discussion method in improving student learning outcomes. This study uses a literature review by analyzing 5 selected articles that are relevant to the topic of pedagogical methods. The results of the study show that group discussions can encourage students to think critically, improve social interaction, as well as the ability to collaborate. The conclusion of the study shows that the pedagogic competence of teachers in guiding group discussions plays an important role in creating an effective learning environment. The novelty of this research lies in the disclosure of the relationship between teachers' pedagogic competence and the effectiveness of group discussions in the context of modern learning in Indonesia.
