Community Empowerment Process Through Tourism Village Program

Abstract

One of the latest elements of the evolution of the development sector in Indonesia is the central government's emerging focus on the community empowerment agenda. This study aims to describe the empowerment process and find out the supporters and obstacles of empowerment carried out by the people of Cempaka Village, Tegal Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation, and documentation. Data validity techniques use source triangulation. Data analysis techniques use data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that community empowerment in Cempaka Village is very beneficial for the community, increased economic income and employment are the results and benefits obtained from this empowerment. There are three empowerment processes carried out, namely: the awareness stage, the transformation stage, and the enrichment stage. There are influential factors in this empowerment process, namely supporting factors; community and government support, community participation, and effective marketing management. While the inhibiting factor; Low human resources, limited capital, limited infrastructure and facilities.
